Embedded Software Test Lead

As part of our continued expansion at Analog Devices we are searching for an experienced Embedded Software Test Lead to take join our Transceiver group and support our development team.


The current development is split across several countries and this role will sit within our Limerick or Cork team. The ideal candidates will build a test a framework and put processes in place in order to drive quality within the team and across our product offerings. This is an exciting opportunity for where you will grow a team around you and be the evangelist for best practices across teams and throughout the company.


 

Test Lead Responsibilities:

    Lead execution of complex test cases/scripts and interprets/analyses results to report, communicate and work through issues with software engineers

    Lead test efforts and may coordinate the efforts of other Software Test engineers

    Gatekeeper of software quality for the software team.  Clear and timely assessment of software quality leading up to code freeze.  

    Responsible for the design and development of software test frameworks to enable the verification and validation

    Maintain ownership of test methodology, architecture and specifications.  

    Hands-on software test experience with a preference for a candidate who is worked in the Telcom’s domain.

    Drive test automation and the improvements to the test process

    Review feature definitions and develop unit test plans for each release across FW, API and GUI.

    Own unit test methodology, architecture and specifications.  

    Generate clear test and coverage reports with pass/fail criteria to facilitate release decisions.

    Work closely with PE team to ensure unit test cases are updated as required to address escapes.  

    Implement new unit test tools and methods as required to continually improve software quality.

    Develop test cases to stress test hardware to identify and potential hardware weaknesses as early as possible. Knowledge of Nunit, pytest.

    Experience hiring, developing and mentoring other software test engineers.


 

Qualifications

    Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent

    7 – 10+ years of software test experience

    At least 4+ years of leading multiple software test teams.

    Experience with TPG/Telecom products

    Knowledge of Embedded Hardware Architecture such as ARM

    Ability to influence other teams and drive issues quickly to resolution.

    Practical knowledge of waterfall and agile methodologies.

    Experience in Python, C, C#, C++, Perl, Javascript or other scripting languages.

    Project and issue management experience using JIRA or similar.

    Source control: Git and BitBucket or similar.
